Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat, richy has made the site look all festive, and the fixtures are beginning to pile up like the M53 on an icy morning.

Despite all the shoppers getting in my way, I’m still able to tell you that the new games are up for prediction, and you can expect to find Villa, United, Norwich, Tranmere and Mansfield – among others.

However, it looks like the eggnog effect is yet to kick in, judging by this little beauty:

1 - porterhouse blues – Div1 – 1500pts
-----------------------------------------------------
2 - richie j – Div7 – 1400pts
-----------------------------------------------------
3 – snoddy – Div5 – 1300pts

Not only is that the greatest table you’ve EVER given me to format, the scoring is also admirably high! With Mr Blues netting such a big total he’s sitting very pretty at the top of Div1 as we head into the final week of predicting for the mini season. Well done to him!

This brings me neatly on to looking at the race for the next UKfpl Premiership Crown. As usual it’s very tight. GazBlades is currently occupying the hot seat, with him looking to break his Premiership duck on 2100pts.

Unfortunately for him he is being hotly chased by a rabid gang of predictors who are thirsty for blood. This lawless troop consists of likes of Swizz9, morty5 and Trelly (no number for him). I can only assume the numbers after their name are awarded to them for the number of people they have bludgeoned to death with their predicting sticks. (Trelly is a new member, so he’s only got minor GBHs under his belt, which though impressive, obviously don’t count)

How Christmassy!

It was also the final of the UKfpl cup last week. Though we don’t really want to here about that, because none of us lot made it! But just for the record the competition was won by geroginah who beat fellow Villa fan betnonm in what must be one of the closest finals ever.

The result came down to attendance after both users predicted the Southampton v Leeds clash to finish 1-1 (it was actually 1-0 to Southampton). bentonm went for an attendance of 24178 whereas georginah erred on the lower side with a punt of 24057 – just 121 lower!

And seeing as the actual attendance was actually 19086 it was geoginah that walks off with our first ever proper prize of a nice watch from ZG Watches. It’s no UKfpl keyring, but it’s not too shabby!

See you next week
